Could you please upload newer dpkg-cross package, based on current CVS? It contains several fixes and improvements. Also, it fixes issues reported by lintian (it's better to upload fixes before someone reports the fixed issues as RC bugs :)). When uploading, please run lintian on source package. One currently in sid has some CVS garbage left, lintian dislikes that.
