This question is best placed under [email protected], but it is unlikely binutils is going to change as 'squeeze' is frozen. Maybe, your changes could be incorporated into current binutils packaging in unstable/squeeze if you kindly ask Matthias Klose to do so (maybe in a bugreport in the BTS).
