I don't want to put this in the BTS because I *know* gcc-3.0 is beta. The libstdc++3 package contains a libtool file /usr/lib/libstdc++.la, which points libtool at /usr/lib/libstdc++.so, which doesn't exist.
So, if you've got libstdc++3 installed, you can't use libtool to build C++ programs, whether you're using g++-3.0 or just g++ (2.95.whatever). This would normally be a critical bug (breaking unrelated packages). Uninstalling all of the gcc-3.0 related packages fixed the problem. -- Sam Couter | Internet Engineer | http://www.topic.com.au/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] | tSA Consulting | OpenPGP key ID: DE89C75C, available on key servers OpenPGP fingerprint: A46B 9BB5 3148 7BEA 1F05 5BD5 8530 03AE DE89 C75C
