FYI: I originally assigned that bug to gcc-m68k-linux, but it should have been gcc, because the problem shows up when doing native compilation on m68k with package gcc installed.
The bug still exists both in gcc 2:2.95.4-8 and gcc-3.0 1:3.0.2-3. Martin
