Package: cpp-3.3 Version: 1:3.3.2-0pre3 Severity: important I was trying to compile a program with the latest cpp version and I got the following error (I'm sorry for the verbosity):
cpp-3.3 -DLILO=0x4897777b `( if [ -r $ROOT/etc/lilo.defines ]; then cat $ROOT/etc/lilo.defines; else echo -DBDATA -DDSECS=3 -DEVMS -DIGNORECASE -DLVM -DONE_SHOT -DPASS160 -DREISERFS -DREWRITE_TABLE -DSOLO_CHAIN -DVERSION -DVIRTUAL; fi ) | sed 's/-D/-DLCF_/g'` -DFIRST=0x9c4ad6f1 -o first.s first.S as86 -0 -a -w -l first.lis -o first.o first.s 00033 00000000> S ***** illegal label..............................^ 00046 00000000> S ***** illegal label..............................^ 00033 00000000> S ***** illegal label..............................^ 00046 00000000> S ***** illegal label..............................^ 00002 errors 00000 warnings make: *** [first.o] Error 1 This is because cpp generated the files with a bunch of "S" letters which means nothing. Obviously this cannot be parsed and then the error is issued. Previous versions of cpp (2.95, 3.0, 3.2) worked just fine. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux volatile 2.4.22-ck1 #2 vie sep 5 14:33:21 COT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=es_ES, LC_CTYPE=es_ES (ignored: LC_ALL set to es_ES) Versions of packages cpp-3.3 depends on: ii gcc-3.3-base 1:3.3.2-0pre3 The GNU Compiler Collection (base ii libc6 2.3.2-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information
