Small Correction: i myself experienced that behavior with several 2.4.22 debian sources, see the bugreport mentioned above for that. However, others experienced the same with 2.4.21. > > Armin, please could you recheck with a recent compiler (and/or > recent kernel)? I just rechecked with 2.4.23 vanilla Linux version 2.4.23-fk1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc-Version 3.3.2 (Debian)) #1 Di Dez 2 03:05:19 CET 2003 (had no time to check it until now) and 2.4.23-1 debian source Linux version 2.4.23-fk2 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc-Version 3.3.3 20031206 (prerelease) (Debian)) #1 Mo Dez 29 17:43:15 CET 2003 Both have ide-scsi built in, no optimise change from the default, and append hdc=ide-scsi. _No faults_ during bootup, and i am _able to burn_ using ide-scsi with both kernels. So i think the bug has been dealt with. Seems that it was a kernel bug, because Linux version 2.4.22-lp8 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc-Version 3.3.2 (Debian)) #7 Mo Okt 20 02:31:36 CEST 2003 (2.4.22-3 debian source) failed, as you can read from the bugreport (my mail from: Received: (at 211783) by bugs.debian.org; 20 Oct 2003 01:12:48 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Oct 19 20:12:45 2003), with the same compiler i built 2.4.23 vanilla. > > Thanks, Matthias > You're welcome greetings/gruesse FreddyK/Armin Krueger -- diese mail wurde unter debian gnu/linux verbrochen ;-) www.de.debian.org
