Thanks, but I only find "libgcj4" part of GCC-3.3 in testing-proposed-updates. I am (trying to) install GCC-3.4, with "libgcj5". I assume one of these tools would let me modify the .deb to reflect the change locally (?) and proceed. But I don't know which one.

DPKG goes a bit crazy trying to cope with this.



changed in 3.4.1-4sarge1 uploaded to testing-proposed-updates. libgcj5 doesn't need to depend on libgcj5-common. just recommend it.
