So far I have gathered the following info: This bug only affect gcc 4.0 build with configure --host=linux-i486. It no more affect gcc 4.1, and apparently gcc 4.0 build with configure --host=linux-i686 is OK. Apparently this bug occurs only when a single static function is inlined twice. I have also found another instance of (probably) the same bug in another source file that might be easier to investigate.
