The only thing that could be called a "library" is specified by an -l option. Rearranging according to the order of things given in the synopsis, I get: gcc -c -Wall -Werror -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED -lncursesw -o display.o \ display.c Is that what you meant?
