Hello, I recently took over maintenance of gcc-4.4-doc-non-dfsg, gcc-4.6-doc, gcc-4.7-doc, and gcc-doc-defaults, and started to updating them. I wish to discuss here on my plan and some questions on which I want to hear your advices.
Here're current versions of relevant packages in sid, and I guess this is the plan for wheezy. gcc and cpp 4.4, 4.6, 4.7 gfortran 4.4, 4.6, 4.7 gcj 4.6, 4.7 gnat 4.4, 4.6 gccgo 4.7 So, for example, I'll remove gcj-4.4-doc and gccgo-4.6-doc in next upload. In trying to fix #594384, I found that gnat's info direntry is handled differently in rename-info-files.diff, and switched them to use versioned names in git repo[1][2](similar commits are in debian/4.6 and debian/4.7). Thus the changes in info's dir will be like: -* GNAT Reference Manual: (gnat_rm-4.4). +* GNAT 4.4 Reference Manual: (gnat_rm-4.4). This will make gnat-4.4-doc and gnat-4.6-doc co-installable, for example. (Although I know gnat-4.4 and gnat-4.6 conflicts, co-installable is a good idea, IMO.) Please tell me if it's not appropriate or there're better ideas.
