I suspect they indeed will need a sysdeps/hppa/divdi3.c.
I wouldn't be shy about taking this discussions directly to
the libc-alpha mailing list. Ulrich just released glibc 2.2.93
with the comment that he isn't getting any new bug reports.
So if you guys want this stuff fixed for glibc 2.3 I would
speak up now so at least they are aware of the breakage.
