Package: libc6 Version: 2.7-6 Severity: normal
Scenario: system migration. I am migrating from machine A (amd k7) to machine B (amd64). I have copied over *all* files except for /boot and selected configuration files in /etc, and I am now attempting to migrate the these newly-installed packages from k7 to amd64 binaries. To do this migration, I use aptitude clean aptitude -o APT::Architecture=amd64 -f install which will re-install packages for the new architecture. Problem: during this update, after downloading the new debians but before any packages are installed, I get the following error: E: Internal error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on libc6 As far as I can tell, this problem is related to the libc6 package itself rather than the particular process I'm following. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libc6 depends on: ii libgcc1 1:4.3-20080112-1 GCC support library libc6 recommends no packages. -- debconf information: glibc/restart-failed: glibc/restart-services: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
