All, There is a new iteration of the zombie page:

The majority of these are severity:serious reports to trigger testing autoremoval of the package. For ancient packages, or where upstream has disappeared or there is a clear problem to keep shipping the package, I filed RM bugs. There is now a link to usertagged bugs in the UDD, for complete historical tracking of the effort: https://udd.debian.org/cgi-bin/[email protected]&tag=zombie-removal As of today it seems 459 bugs have been filed, of which around 100 packages have been removed from the testing/unstable archive already. I suspect some of the more recent bug reports may be false positives, where someone is still working on adding a reverse build dependency into the archive but haven't gotten around to uploading it yet. Still, I suspect the majority will be real zombies where maintainers lost interest due to the package becoming irrelevant for what they were planning to do. I noticed several of my own packages here, and in some cases they may eventually be useful (hence it is good if they stay in unstable per a severity:serious bug report) but is harmful in testing. /Simon
