Hi, I thought you might be interested in my efforts to install Gnome on my slink (no gnome, using wmaker) system, using the Easy Way (tm). So I pointed apt-get at
deb http://www.debian.org/~jim/debian-gtk-gnome/gnome-stage-slink unstable main and then did "apt-get install task-gnome-desktop". All the packages (23) were installed nicely. No failures. But when I put "exec gnome-session" in my .xsession, this is what it fails on: gnome-session: error in loading shared libraries /usr/lib/libgnomeui.so.32: undefined symbol: gdk_imlib_get_cache_info waiting for X server to shut down Is there anyone that can tell me what's happening? Is there a broken package in the staging area? Should I use the GNOME ftp method?
