Aha!  And you say you didn't change anything: no upgrades, etc.?  That
actually, to me, makes it MORE likely that it's an infrastructure
problem like a network issue.  Are both these hosts on the same subnet?
Do you have a separate home directory on each one (not a single
directory shared with NFS or similar)?
