Hi, I'm very pleased to see many large parts of GNOME 2.16 already in Experimental. The speed improvement is amazing. I upgraded, and on the two (quite old) PC I tested it on, everything seems smoother, quicker, ...
I've noticed though some trouble to install several packages which are already available, but not their dependencies: # apt-get install -t experimental metacity gnome-terminal gnome-power-manager Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: gnome-power-manager: Depends: libdbus-1-2 (>= 0.62) but it is not installable gnome-terminal: Depends: libvte9 (>= 1:0.13.3) but it is not going to be installed metacity: Depends: metacity-common (= 1:2.16.2-1) but 1:2.14.5-2 is to be installed E: Broken packages I don't really expect anything, but felt important to let you know. Hope it helps. -- Jérôme Warnier FLOSS Consultant http://beeznest.net
