Hello GNOME team, I just tested Tracker against my relatively well-populated home directory and my preliminary conclusion is, that beagle is still far more mature, supports more data sources, delivers better and more complete search results and, yes, it is not even slower. While tracker is lightning fast when dealing with small amounts of data, it hangs a lot in a real-life environment like mine.
Therefore I wonder if the GNOME team could reconsider building nautilus against both tracker and beagle. Current builds are only tracker enabled, while Ubuntu delivers nautilus packages built against both. This would introduce an additional dependency on libbeagle0, the size of which is no more than a few hundred k.
