Hi, The pkg-gnome SVN repos will now check that the commit includes a real log messages (it requires at least a letter or digit) and will reject commits touching debian/changelog if the version ends with ubuntuNNN (any number of digits).
People in pkg-gnome can fix the pre-commit hook if needs be; it's in /svn/pkg-gnome/hooks/pre-commit on alioth. If you have interesting checks for this pre-commit hook, you're welcome to suggest them; one thing which we could think about is access control: most people only hack on a couple of modules.
