I've downloaded the kernel sources and looked at genrtc.c. Within a minute I knew it forsure: I don't understand it. I've written some simple C programs, but this stuff is a bit too complicated for me. So I take your word that genrtc has no bugs. Let's blame the firmware ;-) But after a couple of days I think that replacing the battery and setting the correct time in the boot-menu is a good solution when an Apollo locks up after accessing the rtc.
