HPUX has a broken sum program. Ignore that bit. It was out of ignorance that HP used "sum" instead of cksum or md5sum. > THE QUESTIONS: > > Do I need to get HPUX working on this machine in order to perform a > successful firmare upgrade? No. If "file *.frm" indicates it's a LIF image, then you can boot that image from LAN, disk, or tape. > Any reason why "dd if=CC2X0063.frm of=/dev/sdb" followed by a boot > from secondary SCSI would be contraindicated once my sum issue > is resolved? If you can't do LAN boot, my next preference is to dd the .frm image to a spare hard disk as you've described. > Can anyone provide a known-good md5sum for CC2X0063.frm under debian? [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/ftp/kernels/c200$ md5sum *.frm 8d6870840a5f2b129da804c3faa39f9c CC2X0062.frm 7ec22db29ecc3f0f1963bbeecb36e1ab CC2X0063.frm These are NOT "known-good" - but if your's matches, I'd trust it. cheers, grant -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
