I've been given a HP 9000/D390. It's huge. I've burnt an Etch install CD (just CD 1 of the official images), but I'm not having a lot of luck getting it booted with either the 32 or 64 bit kernels. They fail in different ways and I've attached boot logs of both - a 64 bit boot fails with a repeating sequence of FLT codes just after "Enumerating the EISA bus" while a 32 bit kernel prints "Freeing unused kernel memory: 328k freed" and then just sits there until I press a key at which point it prints "FLT 0000Kernel panic - not syncing: Kernel Fault".
This is all over the serial console - there's no graphics card in the machine. I've ensured the machine is running the latest firmware (42.10) as I saw some suggestions that could cause issue, but it makes no difference compared to the revision that was on the machine beforehand (38.39). Any suggestions appreciated; equally confirmation that I /should/ expect Etch to run on the D390 would be nice.
