It does. They are provided in the binutils-hppa64 package.
Thanks for the clarification. Not a bug in the gcc package, but a
bug in
the binutils package then. Failure to provide hppa64-linux-gnu-ld
causes
the gcc stage1 to fail during configure (due to setting
with_hppa64=yes).
I think what has happened is someone has removed/unregistered binutils-
hppa64.
On the Debian package website, it's listed as "debports" and it's no
longer listed as
being built from the binutils source. On leda, it's shown as not
registered:
dave@leda:~$ wanna-build -A hppa -d unstable -i binutils-
hppa64binutils-hppa64: not registered
