Oh, this is very interesting. Does emacs run on the Hurd? XEmacs? That would be just the ticket, at least for me.
Please do upload your fixed version, though. I use it on occasion when I need an editor and don't want to wait for emacs to figure out where it is. Can you please announce it here if you do? Thanks. Maybe someday I will get enough stuff gathered together to actually make a contribution.
