Yes, I've gotten that message a few times; I guess it is produced by files
placed in bad sectors. A few weeks ago, when I tried to build apt, I noticed
that when I readed certain file I lost the translator asociated with that
filesystem; what I did that time was to move that directory into lost+found and
rewrite it.

I'm not sure bad blocks are the real cause of that; does Hurd manage bad blocks
in partitions?
