btw, I made a package that takes GRUB components from the installed grub package and (using the mkbimage script by Thierry Laronde) builds a floppy image and an elTorito enabled iso9660 image with them. currently, the package fails to build on both GNU and GNU/Linux because of different errors in mkbimage. If someone wants to hack it, please take it from: http://khazad.dyndns.org/packages/grub-disk if you fix it, you're welcome to maintain it in the archive. otherwise send me patches.
