Yeah, need to finish that, though. Anyway, I am not sure if that is really a requirement for the port. Debian never was ported to a system that embeds such information directly into the filesystem, so it is no wonder that it doesn't support that right now, but it is clearly superior to setting it at every boot (reducing start up time).
