Thanks, I went and read the audio entry.

Confirmed: faq/audio.html answers "Is audio supported?" with
"This is pending work" pointing at rumpsound (last updated
2026-02-06). Packaging pulseaudio in the live image does not
move that needle on its own; without a backend below it,
pulseaudio just starts a null sink and nothing else happens.
Withdrawing the live-image ask.

I will reopen this thread once a backend (rumpsound, Damien
Zammit's jack1-hurd PoC on the bug-hurd RFC thread, or
anything else that surfaces) is far enough along that bundling
the userland is actually load-bearing.
