Can you remove ttf-indic-fonts and install ttf-devanagari-fonts from
debians unstable repository? Does that make a difference.
did you have the problem with text files too ?
well.... having seen this problem occur commonly, for now I will keep
translation for those words needing rhasva matra pending.
I use KDE which uses a different library which doesn't have this problem.
