I recently had some private discussions with some subscribers of this list, namely Matej Kovacic and Josip Rodin, about a possible -announce list for i18n topics. They mentioned me that they actually missed some announcements by me about outdated D-I translations because of the (relatively) high traffic of debian-i18n. Thus, the idea of an -announce ML popped up. What would youpeople think about this?
I'm feeling a bit allergic to extra MLs right now: I've had to join 15 at OpenOffice.org [1] so far. :( Which makes 41 i18n mailing lists. Plus the dev/user/women in computing ones, etc. 64 MLs altogether.
Another solution would be to tag announcements: [ANN] NMU for package_name [ANN] Deadline for D-I Manual so we could filter by topic. That way we wouldn't have to worry about posting to the wrong list etc.I'm a strong supporter of filter-by-topic in any case. It saves a lot of time with busy lists. :)
