Hello, the ia64 port was dropped from both glibc and the kernel upstream so that building anything beyond an old or forked kernel for ia64 has become rather cumbersome. However, anyone wanting to build the kernel can just use the toolchains provided by the kernel mirrors anyway [1]. Thus, I suggest we drop cross-support for ia64 from binutils for the time being in order to reduce the footprint of the binutils package.
