Gentlemen - Sorry if I'm stepping into the middle of your conversation but I just finished installing cyrus-imap, postfix, & procmail. It is working - by the way.
The article that I used to help me was in LinuxWorld. You can find the original article at www.linuxworld.com. In the first screen, enter IMAP in the search field. Currently, I am using passwd for my authentication but the last section of the article had some info that might be of help to you. Specifically, I would like to put ldap on my system. But that is another project for another day.
