For two weeks I have gotten an Adaptec 2400 from <http://www.ebay.de/>
for around 27 ¤ and attached 4 x WD 400EB (5400RPM)  which are working

I am using the bf24, 2.4.19, 2.4.22 and 2.4.25 and they are working 
very fine.

Right ! - Even if you choose harddisks with 5400 rpm, 
(very silent), I like the Performance.
