That's a good point. But keep in mind that when done wrong clusters decrease reliability and increase down-time. I have never been involved in running a cluster where it worked as well as a single machine would have. Clusters need good cluster software (which does not exist for Solaris, there's probably something good for linux), they need a lot of testing (most people don't test properly), and they need careful planning.
