Check your ACPI settings in your BIOS and in your kernel. I messed with ours on a couple of servers, I don't remember where I landed, but I think the only thing that worked reliably was just compiling the kernel to do processor enumeration via ACPI only. Or shut off ACPI in your BIOS altogether and the kernel should do the "right thing" regardless of the compile time options. This is a shot in the dark, not sure if it will help you at all.
