Grazie, per la risposta. Con Kdm, va molto meglio. Per quanto riguarda Lilo, non ho ancora provato il comando, ma lo farò a breve. Per il vecchio, l'ho detto, perchè è una versione molto più brutta di quella che avevo con la Mandrake; una scarna finestrella rossa . Invece l'altra (Mandrake) era molto più bella. la mia distribuzione è l'ultima uscita, la Woody 3.0 r1 da 7 cd.
Tuttavia, la cosa che più mi preme è la risoluzione. Ho seguito i suggerimenti, ma c'è qualcosa che non torna: ho visto il file XF86config-4 e non vi era sezione in cui fosse nominata la 640x480. Avevo solamente, per ogni tipo di Depth (da 1 a 24 ) sempre 800x600. Allora ho provato a fare dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86, ho selezionato solamente 800x600, ma nulla è cambiato, e prima che me lo chiedi ti assicuro che il monitor supporta la 800x600. Quindi alla fine avevo scritto nel file: Depth 24 Mode 800x600 Ma io vedevo una 640x480! Allora ho diminuito la Depth, ma si vedeva malissimo (8). Ti allego il file così magari mi sai dire qualcosa.
