Probabilmente qualcosa di gnome fallisce.
Io farei cos� per partire:
rinominerei la directory dell'utente in _old (o comunque in qualcosa
che la distingua);
ricrei la directory utente con gli stessi permessi e diritti utente (man
chow e man chmod) e provi a riloggarti.
Cos� perdi tutte le configurazioni vecchie, ma ti salvi tutto per uno
studio pi� approfondito del problema.
