Ciao a tutti,
dalla man page di deborphan leggo:

deborphan finds packages that have no packages depending on them. The
default operation is to search only within the libs and oldlibs
sections, to hunt down unused libraries.

Dalla man page di apt-cache leggo:

apt-cache showpkg pkg(s)
showpkg displays information about the packages listed on
the command line. Remaining arguments are package names. The available
versions and reverse dependencies of each package listed are
listed, as well as forward dependencies for each version. Forward
(normal) dependencies are those packages upon which the package in
question depends; reverse dependencies are those packages that depend
upon the package in question. Thus, forward dependencies must be
satisfied for a package, but reverse dependencies need not be.

Ora se ad esempio io do:
murena:/home/rick# deborphan|grep metacity
libmetacity0

Quindi deborphan sembrerebbe dirmi che nessun pacchetto richiede come
dipendenza libmetacity0

Tuttavia se poi do:
apt-cache showpkg libmetacity0

fra le reverse dependencies trovo:

Reverse Depends:
  libmetacity-dev,libmetacity0 1:2.6.1-0
  metacity,libmetacity0 2.4.55
  libmetacity-dev,libmetacity0 1:2.4.55-2
  gnome-control-center,libmetacity0 2.4.55

Quindi mi chiedo chi dei due abbia ragione, o se sia io che non ho
capito bene qualcosa.
Bye,
         Riccardo
