Hey Yo Ho, Tomohiro!
(B
(BI think it is really cool, that this is being discussed now -
(Bfor quite some time now I've been rather unsatisfied with being
(Bforced to boot windoze whenever I want to write a few kanji.
(BBut my experiments so far had allways been rather disappointing.
(BSo now I thought the time had come to finally make my debian-box
(Bwrite Japanese...
(B
(B> For example, to input Japanese and Korean in mlterm,
(B>
(B> LANG=ja_JP.eucJP kinput2 &
(B> LANG=ko_KR.eucKR ami &
(B> LANG=(your favorite locale, probably UTF-8 locale) mlterm &
(B>
(B> And then you can choose XIM server from mlterm's menu.
(B
(BBut, alas...
(BAfter "set-language-env" (and a lot of "y"'s) and "locale-gen" I
(Bentered "LANG=ja_JP.eucJP kinput2 & mlterm &" in konsole.
(BAnd an mlterm-window pops up allright. But then I get the
(Bfollowing message:
(B
(B"Warning: XimpProtocol: SelectionClear event received
(B Warning: KinputProtocol: SelectionClear event received"
(B
(BAnd - there is no menu in my mlterm to choose xim server
(Bfrom...?
(B
(BSo I tried yudit - but here, also, I couldn't even display the
(BJapanese FAQ.
(BAnd the English FAQ said about "how do i enter unicode?":
(Bsomething like "enter a number xxxx" - how am i supposed to write a
(Btext like that - I need a "henka-key". Isn't there one
(Bin either yudit or mlterm?
(BWith mlterm I tried "-K 8bit -k meta" (what is meta - same as
(Bcontrol?) with absolutely no effect :((
(B
(BPlease, could anyone of you give me a hint on what I might be doing
(Bwrong here..
(B
(BThank you
