Thanks, Jesse Lacika -- Job description The primary responsibility of a System Administrator is to assist in the management and support of the company's computer and network systems, including providing database and programming support to company employees. A candidate for this position must possess first-rate IT skills, be capable of working at an advanced level in support of both hardware and software in a Linux environment, have experience with relational database software, and have excellent programming skills. The ideal candidate runs Linux at home, has a genuine interest in computer technology, and is able to quickly learn new technologies. Qualifications: - Linux system administration/supporting background, - Scripting (i.e. perl, python, bash, RE), - Database (i.e. SQL, mySQL, Postgres), - Object oriented programming (i.e. C++, Java) tools is also required, - Experience in network (i.e. NIS, NFS, VPN), - Hardware (i.e. component replacement, RAID setup), - Matlab experience is a plus.
