The Role: Agot is seeking a Software Engineering Manager with CV/ML/Algorithm experience to join the Computer Vision Team! The ideal candidate will grasp and drive complex technical topics and lead a hardworking engineering team during its product development phases. We are looking for an engineering manager with proven leadership experience and a strong software background. The ideal candidate has gone through entire product cycles and has a variety of different experiences. You should have a solid track record of shipping complex new technology and experience in building algorithms. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, constantly changing environment. You will lead teams through the software development cycle from concept to delivery, collaborating with several teams at Agot and driving the definition, schedule, execution and communication of new features. What you’ll do: In this role, you will drive large, cross-functional efforts to build and deploy advanced computer-vision products across Agot. Work cross-functionally to plan and track software tools, infrastructure, and user studies to support technology development. Lead and grow a world-class engineering organization that engineers relish being a part of. Develop our engineering teams by coaching and mentoring our current leaders and inspiring them with a compelling vision & strategy and by recruiting additional top talent Be a strategic thinker, frame & find solutions to complex engineering and people challenges, measure & drive results, and be able to move fast and maintain focus on the highest impact initiatives while keeping track of trade-offs made along the way. Use a "Product Management" mindset to engage with internal and external stakeholders to align on engineering vision, strategy and priorities that deliver measurable results. You should be able to present and drive alignment around the vision and strategy to create a clear long range roadmap. Define and own the Engineering OKRs & roadmap and conduct quarterly roadmap reviews Drive multiple high profile program work streams spanning our data, computer vision, platform and product engineering teams. Identify trends and promote solutions across multiple product areas by being an influencer around software architecture best practices, including quality, supportability, scalability, performance, availability, maintainability, extensibility, and security. Drive transparency and decision making through the engineering organization with blameless postmortems and iterative improvement programs that focus on product scale and quality. Requirements: - 3+ years software engineering management experience, including code reviews, creating timelines, strategic planning, recruiting, etc - 5+ years of experience in software development building large scale consumer (web + mobile), SaaS, PaaS, IaaS or Computer Vision products using public or private clouds. - 2+ years of experience leading geo-distributed enterprise scale engineering teams. - Experience building platforms (decentralized/microservice-based systems, data analytics/processing, infrastructure-based privacy software or multi-party compute platforms) - Fluency programming in python/linux at least 3 years of python - Exposure to Computer Vision (if not, work experience in CV) - Deep learning experience - 1-2 years Machine learning - Agile/Waterfall/Scrum/Sprint proven leadership - Experience with machine learning metrics, data analysis and experiment management - Good team player with great communication skills - Good knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu or RedHat) - Strong ability to inspire and lead others - Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles/processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, TDD, XP) and continuous improvement through measurement - Experience leading, or working with, data engineering and data science teams - Experience leading, or working with, platform engineering and SRE teams - Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and strategic capacities - You can comfortably adjust your altitude and roll-up your sleeves as needed - Experience with rapid scaling of engineering organization by hiring and retaining exceptional talent - Commitment to product excellence and experience promoting the right balance between best practices and feature delivery - Demonstrated experience of promoting culture and diversity throughout a large engineering organization to achieve transformational change - Excellent communication skills for both horizontal and vertical organizational lines - Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent Nice to have: - Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a startup environment - Knowledge of Git and Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence - Understanding of camera models, calibration methods, distortion models and rectification methods, image/video segmentation -- *Adrian Alves* <http://www.agot.ai/> *Computer Vision AI for QSR*
