Hello all, I work on the SecureDrop <https://securedrop.org/> team at Freedom of the Press Foundation <https://freedom.press/>. It’s an important piece of open-source software (more of an “ecosystem” actually) that allows journalists to connect with anonymous sources while maintaining their anonymity. We are hiring for a unique role called Newsroom Support Engineer <https://grnh.se/025a948b5us>. Some details: -I would call this an early-ish career role. -Dev experience is a big plus (which is why I am here!). -We do prefer North America-based candidates OR candidates who can make a 5hr overlap with EST timezone work for their work/life balance. -The salary range for US-based employees is $80k-100k (commensurate with experience) or a comparable competitive range for international candidates. To quote the job description: > You will provide technical assistance via our support portal and forums, > assist with system outages, join client calls, participate in occasional > on-site technical work (COVID-19 health conditions permitting), and work in > close partnership with FPF’s engineering and digital security teams to > escalate issues and test upcoming releases. > During times of low support activity, you will have opportunities to > contribute to documentation and to get involved in day-to-day development.
