Sorry about that, I might have been jumping to false conclusions. But note I didn't say it was a 'bug' -) I wasn't positive what all I had running. Turns out I had qt2.2.4 with mismatched kdelibs kdebase. kdelibs were local builds from very recent, while kdebase was from official Debian sid. Most likely it was something I messed with in the build. I reverted back to 'official' debs from sid, all working just great with qt2.2.4. My mistake. Gordon Sadler
