Packages from the official Debian apt mirrors should
be automatically added. You could try logging out and
back in and see if that does it for you. (Or, if
you're impatient, you could modify your taskbar
properties, thus restarting Kicker).

I can't be of much more help unless you say what app
and where you got it from.
