(How would I go about getting rid of this? I tried removing kcontrol
and then reisntalling. Didn't help.)

Actually, it's not all that important that I fix this, as I'm
controlling the mouse now via xset. But it would be nice to tie up
loose ends at some point before migrating to 3.3.
