As I'm running this on NVidia hardware, I've also added Section "Device" [...your device settings...] Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true" EndSection Further, I've found two bugs reports upstream that match my problems: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100020 -> Has been closed because its the X server that needs fixing. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100177 -> Valid.
