You can right-click on widgets and remove them (sometimes difficult) or add a new panel (right-cick on desktop) and then add widgets on it. It is sometimes faster to create a new user and copy the files in ~/.kde4/share/config/plamarc ~/.kde4/share/config/plama-appletsrc > Bug or feature?
