A workaround that worked for me: disable under settings > "Composer->General" "Improve plain text version of HTML Messages". That work-around does not seem to work for me. Even when I set "html-markup" in ~/.config/kmail2rc to "false" it sets it to true again. 67 html-markup=true 68 improve-plain-text-html-message=false I try again with kbuildsycoca in between.
