Package: firmware-amd-graphics Version: 20181218-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Kaveri APUs, along with other SI and CIK parts, still uses the radeon driver by default. They can also use the amdgpu driver by setting some options. In linux 4.19 at least, the amdgpu driver doesn't load the firmware in radeon/kaveri* anymore, and expect it to be found in amdgpu/kaveri* instead. Looking at the linux-firmware repository, it seems that the firmware is different. For instance: $ sha1sum */kaveri_pfp.bin bddd0dda7153a549602b2b339c7f2de507815bc8 amdgpu/kaveri_pfp.bin d0033d1be4f137d7ec96c9ab2b4a2976d6b4c9f3 radeon/kaveri_pfp.bin I think other hardware from those families deserve the same treatment. If I'm not mistaken, this includes bonaire, hainan, hawaii, kabini, mullins, oland, tahiti and cape verde.
