Package: linux-base Version: 4.6 Severity: normal Currently, Debian packages of the Linux kernel call linux-update-symlinks manually, and then separately call the /etc/kernel/postinst.d hooks. Upstream kernel packages (built with "make bindeb-pkg") call the /etc/kernel/postinst.d hooks but do not call linux-update-symlinks, which means /vmlinuz and similar don't get updated.
Please consider running linux-update-symlinks via a /etc/kernel/postinst.d hook, which would make it work automatically for upstream kernels. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.4.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages linux-base depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.73 linux-base recommends no packages. linux-base suggests no packages. -- debconf information excluded
