Hi! I have the exact same problem on a fresh Debian 11 installation and a T460s laptop.
Changing TPM from 2.0 to 1.2 in the BIOS resolves the poweroff and the suspend issue. Also FYI (not sure if that helps), as I did not found 949020 earlier, I have used the following workaround on Buster + 5.10 bpo kernel (hibernating just after booting to then be able to suspend until next reboot): | echo reboot >/sys/power/disk | echo disk >/sys/power/state As far as I can remember, I did not had the poweroff problem on Buster, just suspend. -- Faustin
